Jay-Z releases 'Open Letter' song following Cuba trip criticism, White House reacts

Earlier this year at the 57th Presidential Inauguration swearing in for President Barack Obama, Beyoncé performs the national anthem. According to  (2013) OnTheRedCarpet.com (OTRC) Website, Beyoncé mentions how she has been a longtime supporter of the president and First Lady Michelle Obama. Four months later after singing at the President Inauguration Beyoncé and her husband Jay Z takes a rare trip to Cuba for their five-year wedding anniversary.

This trip has caused a tremendous controversy about whether or not the trip was legally taken. U.S. Citizens are not allowed to travel to Cuba for mere tourism, although ten of thousands of Americans visit Cuba for academic, religious, journalistic, or cultural exchange licenses. (Heller, 2013) Living legend Jay Z is speaking out him and his wife trip to Cuba thru music. Jay Z released a new track called “Open Letter” on April 11, 2013 defending his visit to the country. As the couple, walk the streets in Cuba. The couple poses for pictures.

According to Jay Carney, the white house press secretary. Carney states, “ I guess nothing rhythms with Treasury.  Carney elaborate on this topic by mentioning how the white house and the president had nothing to do with anybody’s travel to Cuba. The line from the Open Track song stating he got “White House Clearance”. This track has already reached well over half a million listeners in just a few hours of the release of this track.  Although there is still some research going on, whether Jay Z and his wife Beyoncé broke the law.  Jay-Z seems to be winning by keeping his name in the mouth of Politicians with this recent trip to Cuba.  This goes to show us that although we have a freedom of speech with the 1st amendment.   With Politicians analyzing everything closely now day’s entertainers need to be careful not to break the national and international laws.  Check out the sound cloud track below of Jay Z " Open Letter".
