According
to Forbes (2013) Twitter is the strongest social media channel for generating
business-to-business (B2B) leads, outperforming Facebook and LinkedIn 9-to-1
with 82 percent of media leads coming form Twitter.
The
author states, that a recent study by digital marketing software providers,
found that social media generated 40 % of overall traffic to B2B websites. Most
importantly the B2B leads are the goals of the business. After further analyses, various sources of traffic has been converted
into sales.
Surprisingly,
organic search is the #1 driver of
traffic, even though it is at the bottom of the conversion rate list. Based on
the (2013) article, there are 4 things that are critical for marketing success.

responsible for over 36% of all visit.

Social Media is still a small fraction of traffic and leads to B2B websites,
contributing on average less than 5% of all traffic and leads.

Paid Search usage showed a constant decline among B2B marketing in 2012 Over
10% of companies in the report discontinued their paid search campaigns during
2012.
